A friend pointed me to this eBay auction. Pretty amazing huh? Your own beautiful 225 acre island in Fiji for 25 million EUR. If I had just a little bit more money I would buy this without a doubt .
The island is 1 mile long, 1/3 mile width and has 150 foot elevations. This island is called Blue Lagoon Island because it’s surrounded by a 5,000 acre lagoon which completely surrounds the island. This offers you some protection against extreme tides. The current owners say the island is perfect for snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, windsurfing, cycling, … There are also nine caves, the deepest one stretches 122 meter (400 feet) below the surface. There’s also some wildlife like rare coconut crabs, giant clams, leather back turtles, doves, lots of birds and marine mammals. With some luck you may even spot a couple of dolphins.
The ad claims the water has a 200-foot visibility and an average temperature of 26-27°C (80 degrees Fahrenheit). Contrary to many other islands that are for sale this one already has a lot of infrastructure, there’s even a world class resort that’s 80% completed. If you like you can finish the construction of the resort in 6-9 months and start generating revenue. This resort will feature 21 guest villas with thermal spa, indoor/outdoor showers and Internet access.
There’s also lots of other infrastructure and facilities, including: an airstrip that’s about 1km long (3,400 foot), an aircraft hangar, tennis courts, golf courses, a big owner’s residence, employee housings, a power generator with 60,000 liter fuel tanks, a wine cellar and much more. Check out the eBay auction for dozens of photos of the island.
Note: The eBay auction says it’s only 250 000EUR but if you read a bit more carefully you’ll notice that it’s actually 25 million EUR because eBay doesn’t allow you to set such huge minimum bids
