Going to Italy this Summer

Carmen and I booked a holiday yesterday, in 2006 we went to the Greec island Corfu and this year we’re going on a beach holiday to Italy. After looking through dozens of destinations we decided to go to Garden Resort Calabria, this hotel is located in the Italian region Calabria and most people on travel rating sites seem to be quite enthusiastic about it.

Location:
A mediterranean, approximately 150m wide pine forest separates the long sandy and shingle beach at the tyrrhenian coast of Calabria from Garden Resort Calabria. The way to the international airport of Lamezia Terme (15 km) takes only 20 minutes and to the picturesque old town of Pizzo it is only about 10 km (Shuttle against payment).

Furnishing:
ample reception, lobby and guest relations center. 2 huge freshwater swimming pools, one of them with a cascade. Boutique. Wellfit-Center “Vita Allegra” with sauna, steam bath, whirlpool and gym. Massages and cosmetic treatments (against payment).

This four-star hotel has lots of facilities, 2 swimming pools, lots of bars and restaurants and a long sandy beach. To reach the beach you have to walk through a small pine forest where you can relax in hammocks. One of the only disadvantages is that they don’t offer free WiFi access I’ve found a lot of pictures of the hotel and the surrounding towns at sites like HolidayCheck and look forward to going on holiday in July.

Now that the holidays are over it’s time to start working overtime, last week was pretty calm as not a lot happens in the tech industry between Christmas and New Year but the rest of this week and next week are going to be quite busy. Unfortunately I’m not able to go to CES 2008 in Las Vegas myself but I will have more than my hands full publishing news on DV Hardware about all the products that firms are presenting at CES.
