Lets take a look at a couple of WordPress comments that may help you to get more comments on your blog.
1) WP Grins
This plugin adds cute clickable smileys in the comment form. This plugin normally uses the standard smileys from WordPress (which originally come from phpBB) but on this blog I use other smileys which IMO look a bit cooler.
This sidebar widget gives your users an incentive to post more comments on your blog. It creates a section in your sidebar where the top commentators will get a link without a nofollow tag.
Brian’s Threaded Comments makes the comment section of your blog posts a bit more like a forum. This gives readers the ability to respond to comments from other readers.
4) MyAvatars
Adds the MyBlogLog avatar from your readers next to their comments. I also made a post on how you need to install this if you use Brian’s Threaded Comments.
A plugin that adds a “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail” box to your comment form. The Subscribe to Comments plugin may encourage first-time commenters to come back to your blog and stay engadget in the dialog. The plugin includes a full-featured subscription manager that your commenters can use to unsubscribe to certain posts, block all notifications, or even change their notification e-mail address.
